A forgotten box of records opened the door to a buried story involving the IRS, organized crime, and a case that climbed all the way to the White House.
The Confidence of The Mob podcast is a deeply researched narrative documentary series. Unpacking decades of Fred Pastore's declassified IRS records, we bring the investigation to life through real audio tapes, insider interviews, and expert analysis of how the American Mafia infiltrated the government.
What Was Inside Changed Everything
Every family has a story they don't fully know. For Eddy Inserra, it started with a cardboard box from his mother's attic — and ended with the discovery that his grandfather Fred Pastore was one of the most consequential, complicated figures in Boston's criminal history.
“We had to keep the shades drawn. We couldn't leave the yard. Come to find out later — we were being watched. We were being followed.”
